PHOENIX, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ — Group Mobile, a provider of rugged, mobile and field-use computing products (), announced today that they made the Inc. 5000 list of fast growth companies in the U.S. for the second year in a row. With a three-year sales growth of 202.3%, Group Mobile also ranked #44 in the top 100 computers and electronics companies’ category. The Inc. 5000 list is a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy — America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, companies that make this list represent the backbone of the U.S. economy. The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007.
“We are honored to be a part of the 2008 Inc. 5000 list of fast growth companies for a second year and we are taking several measures to ensure our future growth,” said Director of Marketing Sejal Solanki. “With concerns of a recession we have had to work harder at setting our company apart from the competition. On August 4th of this year we launched a new website with a new Web 2.0 look and feel as well as improved navigation and live chat. We have also put an increased focus on customer service and as a result much of our sales come from repeat customers.”
According to Richard Lawson, President of Group Mobile, “Rugged mobile computing is one of the fastest growing segments in the computer industry. Organizations are recognizing the tremendous productivity gains that can be achieved by automating their field work force. The advent of high-speed mobile broadband wireless communication has accelerated this growth since field or vehicle-based workers can now access their home office system, access the Internet, send and receive emails, be dispatched for the next job, provide instant work orders, price quotes, invoices, etc. from almost anywhere. And organizations have realized that commercial mainstream plastic computers, designed for the indoor worker, are not the right tool for the job.”
Magnesium-cased ruggedized computers, such as those offered at Group Mobile, operate problem-free for years and in less-than-ideal environmental conditions. Many will even handle a drop from 3-4 feet onto concrete. They are also designed to handle the constant vibrations associated with using a computer in a vehicle. “Fortunately for us, most IT departments and CFO’s have learned that paying a little more up front for a rugged, durable computer saves thousands of dollars over the life of that computer. Not to mention the significant reduction in headaches and improved worker morale that ensues from being provided with high quality and dependable work tools,” says Lawson.

IPexpert’s International Reach Grows With Netmetric Solutions Partnership

August 25th, 2008 by admin

CHINA, Mich., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ — Less than 20,000 individuals worldwide currently hold the CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert) certification, which places them among the elite computer networking experts anywhere. This distinction also demands a six-figure annual salary in America, according to recent national surveys.
To become CCIE-certified, an engineer must pass a grueling 8-hour-long hands-on “lab” exam conducted by Cisco (), the global leader in computer network solutions. IPexpert () is a primary training organization, focused solely on preparing seasoned computer network engineers for the coveted CCIE certification exams, through various learning solutions.
A typical preparation plan for a successful candidate includes working through self-study training products, which can take three to six months to complete. Then, prior to attempting the CCIE exam, many candidates choose to attend intense live classroom training, lasting one or two weeks, up to 14 hours per day. Although IPexpert’s industry-leading products are used by CCIE candidates around the world, its popular live courses are generally offered only in the United States and limited key locations abroad. With growing demand for these courses in various emerging markets, such as India and Saudi Arabia, IPexpert has aligned with Netmetric Solutions to expand its reach.
Netmetric Solutions () is a training organization headquartered in Hyderabad, India. The company is established as a leading provider of CCIE training in its geographic region, creating an ideal opportunity for resource sharing and cooperative marketing efforts with IPexpert. The partnership allows both entities to leverage the other’s physical presence and brand recognition in their regions.
President of Netmetric Solutions Khawar Butt is a veteran in the IT (Information Technology) industry, with over 30 years of experience and many career certifications to his credit, including four of the available five CCIE certification specialties. “We are very excited to be working with IPexpert in this partnership that will help bring CCIE-level training to students throughout the world. Having worked with IPexpert in the past and understanding how the company works will be a big plus in this partnership.” He adds, “We previously partnered in 2004 to bring to market one of the first offerings in the world for the CCIE Security specialization. I look forward to bringing similar types of groundbreaking products to the market in the future.”
About IPexpert, Inc.

LSI Tarari Content Processors Drive Down Power Consumption for Demanding XML Applications

August 25th, 2008 by admin

MILPITAS, Calif., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — LSI Corporation today announced that it will demonstrate the power-saving benefits of utilizing hardware-based XML accelerators in conjunction with multi-core processors at the intel Developer Forum, August 19-21 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, Calif. XML is the dominant transactional data format used in enterprise applications, SOA and Web Services. The use of XML acceleration points the way to significant reductions in data center power consumption, which is forecasted to double in the next five years.
“A recent report* shows that one watt of extra power consumption can result in almost three watts of additional cooling and power supply overhead, so every watt we save has a multiplying effect,” said Randy Smerik, senior vice president, Network Components Group, LSI. “LSI XML solutions reduce power consumption and increase performance, yet are easy to design in.”
Tests conducted by LSI show that processing a gigabyte of XML data on a general-purpose processor can increase quiescent power consumption by as much as 90 watts. When the same XML data is processed using an LSI(TM) Tarari(R) XML Content Processor, the average incremental power consumption is less than 20 watts. Hardware-based XML processing also dramatically improves application latency. Using a Watts Up Pro(TM) power meter, LSI will demonstrate the power-saving benefits of the LSI Tarari XML Content Processor when coupled with a Quad-Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor based platform.
LSI Tarari content processors increase network performance, reduce cost and lower power consumption by offloading security, quality of service, content-based billing, bandwidth management and XML processing functions from standard multi-core processors. Tarari solutions are scalable, feature a common application programming interface and can be supplied on standard PCIe 8-lane boards.

As a breakthrough innovator of solutions in the areas of high performance transactional systems, middleware appliances, enterprise application virtualization and web 2.0 technologies, Cuomo will kick-off Energy Camp — a collaborative “unconference” dedicated to the reduction of IT’s global carbon footprint. Audiences are invited to join this forum where industry stakeholders will gather together to discuss the growing impact of today’s energy costs on IT’s bottom line, and the overarching importance of energy conservation and utilizing greener IT solutions and methods.
“With information technology representing such a large and growing chunk of any company’s budget, energy efficiency across the entire IT infrastructure isn’t just an imperative for a sustainable Earth, it’s an imperative for every company’s bottom line,” said David Berlind, Interop’s Executive Conference Director and TechWeb blogger. “We’re excited that ibm is participating in Energy Camp at Interop and look forward to a robust discussion with them about what IT companies can do to positively impact profits.”
Following IBM’s keynote address, the program will be led by James Governor. Governor is co-founder and principal analyst of RedMonk and author of the Greenmonk.net blog, a community dedicated to the use of open source and social software to improve the environment and encourage good behaviors. Sample discussions at the previous Energy Camp included ‘Best Practices For Equating “Green IT” to Cost Savings,’ ‘Are Companies Ready to Consider Some ‘Crazy’ Ideas to Improve Data Center Energy Efficiency?,’ ‘Best Practices for Recycling and Refurbing Electronics,’ and more.
